PhysicalMind Institute's Certifying Studio in Europe

Sandrine’s Pilates is the Certifying Studio for the Physicalmind Institute in Europe. We offer teacher  certification programs in Pilates Matwork and Pilates Equipment. The Physicalmind Institute, founded in 1991 as the Institute for the Pilates Method, is the largest organization for certification, membership and materials. First  to create an International Certification Program in 1991, the certification programs are recognized by ACE, AFAA, COPSKT-AKTA, ISSA, NASM, NATABOC, and SFA.

We encourage people who are interested in teaching how to teach Pilates to have at least 4 months of Pilates experience before beginning the certification process.

Initatiation 101: is a 15-hour course taught  over 3 days. Professionals will learn to teach Pilates Mat classes using the  original exercises developed by Joseph Pilates. Students who pass the course and  final exam receive a certificate of completion. To become certified in Pilates Mat, successful completion of Initiation 201 is required.

Initiation 201: (Standing Pilates) : is a 15-hour course over 3 days. This course certifies instructors in the complete Matwork, including all of the advanced exercises. Experience the 10 new Advanced Fundamentals. Finish with 21 of the Classic mat exercises reconfigured to Standing Pilates®. These sequences require an evolved technique use of the deeper core muscles of the pelvic floor, transversus abdominus and multifidus (third level).

Mat certification requires that you successfully complete both Initiation 101 and Initiation 201.

Concentration 101: is a 10-week course (approx 450 hours), including class work, practice,  assistant teaching, observation and homework, to prepare students for the final  certification exam.

Initiation 101 :

Learn to develop exercise  prescriptions by seeing body positioning, movement misalignment and faulty  posture. Learn to teach exciting, total-body floor workouts from the original Pilates Mat Exercises. Learn biomechanics, muscle patterns and exercise principles.

You will also learn to teach 25 classic Pilates exercises and their advanced variations by applying the institute's own 16 fundamentals.
